LESSON4-DEPARTURE INFORMATION

If the airport has no ATIS (Automatic Terminal Information Service) recording, the pilot must ask for departure information.
Listen to the recording. You can copy the pilot´s words or simply listen to them.ATIS DEPARTURE INFO.1

Before start-up or before taxi, the pilot listens to the ATIS.If there is no ATIS,the controller gives the lates weather data.
Let´s do some exersises. Please listen and fill in the controller´s response, read back and write down.

1. PIL. Ground,SF 398,request departure information.
   CTL ..................................................................

2.PIL Ground,KM 563,request departure information
   CTl ..................................................................

3. PIL Ground,SV 295,request departure information
   CTL..................................................................

4,PIL Ground,Cu 759,request departure information
  CTl..................................................................

5.PIL Ground JD 460,request departure information
   CTl.................................................................

6.PIL Ground,EN 926,request departure information
   CTL................................................................

ATIS-DEPARTURE INFO2

Also,if the weather is good, the ATIS recording is short, but if the weather is poor, the recording is longer.
Now listen to the examples and also the ATIS of different airports and write down the information

LESSON3-TERMINAL AERODROME FORECAST(TAF)

The terminal aerodrome forecast(TAF) is a concise statement of the expected meteorological conditions at an airport during a specified period (usually 24Hr.)
The TAF covers a geographic area within a 5-SM radius of the airport´s center.
TAF´s are scheduled four times daily for 24-Hr.periods beginning at 0000Z,0600Z,1200Z and 1800Z.
A TAF contains the following sequence of elements in the following order (items 1-9).Forecast change indicators (items 10-12) and probability forecast (item 13) are used as

COMMUNICATIONS HEADER

1. Type of report
2.ICAO station identifier

LESSON2-AVIATION WEATHER

Every single pilot is aware of the importance of the aviation weather. Also we all know how dangerous can be for the safety of the flight the effects of the weather hazards or anomalies.Aviarion weather it´s a complex issue but in this chapter we try to cover some aspects of it.Let´s start with METAR:
An aviation routine weather report(METAR) is the weather observer´s(human or automated) interpretation of the weather conditions at a given site and time. The METAR is used by the aviation community to determine the weather conditions (VFR,MVFR.,IFR) at an airport,as well as to produce a terminal aerodrome forecast (TAF),if appropriate.
A METAR report contains the following sequence of elements in the following order:
1 Type of report
2 ICAO station identifier
3 Date and time of report
4 Modifier (as required)
5 Wind
6 Visibility
7 Runway visual range (RVR)
8 Weather
9 Sky condition
10 Temperature/dew point
11 Altimeter
12 Remarks (RMK) (as required)
Example:
METAR KGNV 221844Z 23015KT 3/4SM R28/2400FT +TSRA BKN008 OVC015CB 26/25 A2985 RMK TSB32RAB32
1 Aviation routine weather report
2 KGNV-Gainesville,FL
3 Observation taken on the 22th day at 1844 UTC or ZULU
4 Modifier omitted:i.e.,not required for this report
5 Wind 230º true at 15 KT
6 Visibility 3/4 SM
7 Runway 28,runway visual range 2,400 FT
8 Thunderstorm with heavy rain
9 Ceiling 800 FT.,broken,1,500 FT.,overcast,cumulonimbus clouds
10 Temperature 26º C,dew point 25º C
11 Altimeter 29.85
12 Remarks: Thunderstorm began at 32 min.past the hour;rain began at 32 min.past the hour.

LESSON1-AVIATION ENGLISH,,PLANE PARTS

AIRPLANE PARTS

Hello everybody.
We´re going to talk about the Aircraft parts: Let´s begin;
There´ll be a picture of the aircraft or plane showing the names of the parts:
Nose,Windscreen(BR),Windshield(AM),Aerial(BR),Antenna(AM),Aileron,Spoiler,Flap,Slat,Winglet,Fuselage,Rudder,Elevator,Tail Fin,Tyre(BR),Tire(AM),Engine,Emergency Exit,Radome,Light,Outboard Slats,Tailplane(BR),Horizontal Stabilizer,Fin(BR),Vertical Stabilizer(AM).
Now a little execise:
Match the words to make plane parts:
1 Tail           a Door                      1 Trailing       a Light         1 Under    a Edge
2 Cargo    b Assembly                2 Access     b Hatch        2 Landing b Light
3 Engine c Cowling                  3 Navigation   c Edge         3 Leading c Carriage
